NATURAL HOT SPRINGS |
| Agamemnon Hot Springs
that was marked in Homeros’ Legends and the written -
works of Strabon who is a geographer are utilized as
restoration of heealth from the ancient periods to today.
The periods that Ionians passed to Agean Coasts, a part of
Alexander the Great’s army’s woundeds were cured in
these hot springs. It had a wide usage in that period,
constructions were brought and progressed. |

ruins are not seen in here besides an information
about these springs’ history are not obtainable
from the historical sources in 1763. After that
period the Agamemnon Hot Springs that were re-occured
by a French called Elfont Meil were reconstructed

The Balcova hot springs are composed of sodium chloride
and calcium bicarbonate. With 62 to 80 C water temperature
and 6.4 PH, Balcova hot springs contain 1,369 mg/lt
minerals. These hot springs are recommended for the
treatment of rheumatic diseases, digestive maladies, post-injuries
and post-operational problems, calcification and metabolic
disorders.
Treatments
and accommodation : The Balcova hot baths
complex, with a total capacity of 1,000 person per day.,

BAYINDIR THERMAL BATHS |
| Bayındır Thermal Baths are formed of the
Ergendi Thermal bath and Dereköy Hot Spring which are 8 km further than The
Turgutlu Road on the north-east of Bayındır. The avaradge of the water heats of
the springs that are 15 minutes away from eachother are about 40 C. It is stated
that the springs that include sulphur sodium hydrocarbonathe are mostly

PERGAMON HOT SPRINGS |
THE BEAUTY THERMAL
BATH The beauty thermal bath, which is 4 kms. Away from Pergamon, has a
dome and a hot spring with two marble pools. The hot spring, which is known to
have been built in the period of Eumenes the king of Pergamon. It has continued
it’s fame for centuries with the name "Eskülup Baths". Today the hot
springs,
which are located in an area of trees, has a hotel and bungalows belonging to
the Pergamon municipality nearby.The hot spring provides an attractive holiday
with the maintanance and restorations the accumudation facilities went through
in 1986. The temperature of the water is around 35 C. The hot spring waters
which contain sodium bicarbonate and sullphate are good for rheumatism,

it is a common opinion that the hot springs have a beautifying effecton oily and
seboraic skin. There is a legend that cleopatra became more beautiful when she

THE
DEREKöY THERMAL BATH |
| This thermal bath, which is found about 15
m. East of the Altınova (Ayazment) subdistrict that is on the west of
Pergamon.
Its waters are good for curing people in pain. |
THE HAYDAR THERMAL BATH |
| It is situated in the Ilıca Village which
is tied to the subdistrict of Kozak, which is on the north of Pergamon. There is
only a bath remain of the Roman period. The hot and sulphuric waters are good
for the palnful illnesses of the movement system and skin diseases. |
THE
DiKiLI THERMAL BATH |
| The Nebiler hot springs are 4
kms. on the
right of the Dikili-Ayvalýk highway. The water temperature is between 55 and 75

THE BADEMLI THERMAL BATH |
| It is 15 kms. away from Dikili and the

There are accomodation facilities around it. It is a swamp with rushes and reefs
which has boiling hot waters in the center. It is 3 kms. in diameter. It is good
for curing skin diseases, painful diseases and gynocologic diseases. |
THE
THERMAL BATHS OF MENEMEN

The Deniz Thermal
Bath : It is located on the northwest of Menemen
and is 15 kms. on the west of the subdistrict center of the Aliağa farm. The
waters boil inside a cave. The rocks were shaped in the early ages 50 the source
would stay in a natural bath. It is good for bones that do not weld together for
the bone system, problems with blood circulation and similar diseases.
The
Ilıcagöl Bath and Mud : It is on the west corner of the Ilýca lake swamp
on the northwest of Menemen. It has a simple hot spring building. The swamp is
enclosed by walls and the mud inside it is warm. There are treatments with water
and mud baths. The warm and sulphuric waters are good for rheumatism, skin
diseases, bile and urinary stones.
The Rabbit Island Thermal
Bath : It is around the Elem Lake (Bozköy) and near the Uzgur
village,
which is 15 kms. southwest of the tire district center. The very hot waters of
the thermal bath are used for bathing and drinking. When used for bathing it is
good for rheumatism and skin diseases, chidren’ and gynocological diseases and
when it is used for drinking it is good for ailments of the lungs and the
digestive system. |
THE
ÇEŞME THERMAL BATH |
| It is found on the Izmir-Çeşme highway and
is located on the coast 5 kms. away from Çeşme. It is one of the most
interesting and unique thermal baths in the world that has its bath and beach in
the same place. The avarage water temperature is 58 C. It contains sodium
chlorium, potassium and magnesium chlorium. It is good for all chronic types of
rheumatism, metabolism disorders like gut, obesity,
rashitism, gynocological and
skin diseases and painful illnesses of the liver and urinary tract. Modern
accomadation places can be found nearby. Also these accomodation facilities have
thermal pools and baths. It is possible to visit the Çeşme hot springs with the
Çeşme buses which depart from Uçkuyular. |

432 beds. The hot springs flow at a rate of 15 litres per
second and can accommodate 500 people a day. Altinyunus
Holiday Resort, situated in a cove along the seafront, has
1,030 beds. Its Natural Sea Spa can handle 500 people per
day.

PH of 6.5, and mineral content 27.2 gr/lt. The sea water

dermatologicai and gynaecological diseases. They are also
recommended for neurological exhaustion and to help
strengthen the muscles.

ŞiFNE (REiSDERE) HOT SPRING AND MUD |
| A hot spring that has many
accomodation and eating-drinking facilities is found on a small peninsula on the
Þifne bay, which is 5 kms. on the northeast of the Çeşme Thermal Bath. It has a
large main pool and lined benches. The water contains sodium, chlorium and
calcium. The average water temperature is 38 C. and it contains radioactivity
(5.3 eman). It is good for
rheumatism, rashitism, gynocologic and urinary tract
diseases, stomach diseases, intestine diseases, egsama, and skin diseases like
blood abscess. |
THE
THERMAL BATHS OF SEFERHiSAR |

The
Cumali Thermal Bath : It is found 15 kms. on the southeast of the district
of Seferihisar, and ismade up of several sources located a few hundred meters
away from eachother around the feet of the Kovacık Village. The avarage water
temperature varies between 55-65 degrees. The waters contain carbondioxide and
salf. When the waters are used for bathing it is good for
rheumatism, Skin diseases, upper respiratory tract
diseases, broken bones,and gynocologic diseases.
The
Karakoç Hot Spring and Mud : It is near the Kavakdere
Village, which is 17 kms. on the southeast of Seferihisar. The waters contain
carbondioxide, sodium chlorium and bicarbonate. When it is used for bathing it
is good for rheumatism, skin diseases and rashitism and when used for drinking
it is good for stomach and intestiner disorders.
The Kelalan Thermal
Bath : It is located 20 kms. away from Seferihisar. The very hot waters of
the thermal bath is good for rheumatism and skin diseases. |

Malkoç Içme’s :
It is located on the 41 km. of the Izmir - Çeşme highway
in the area called "Içmeler". The waters
contain carbondioxide and sodium chlorium. The camping and
room kind of accomodation facilities are enough for
serving the local needs. The thermal bath is found on the
coast. It’s waters are good for stomach and intestine
treatment.
The
Gülbahçe Thermal Baths :
It is located 15 kms. on the west of the Urla district
center on the Gülbahçe bay coast. It also has a Turkish
Bath. The average water temperature is 17 C. It is good
for rheumatism and skin diseases. |
